A video of a white man harassing and threatening a Latina mother in San Clemente, California, is making its rounds on social media.

The man in the video has been identified as Jeff Marder, who’s reportedly the owner of Top-Tier transportation. From the footage, you can see Jeff spitting on the woman’s car while they were in traffic. He proceeded to stop his vehicle right in front of her car and get out to cuss her out. Thankfully, she had her window rolled up. The woman had her child in the car when this incident occurred.
The San Clemente Police department allegedly told the woman that Jeff Marder did nothing wrong and refused to help her even though in California, in addition to the battery, the crime of “assault” under Penal Code § 240 covers spitting. This crime covers the attempt to use force or violence rather than the actual contact. The police could file charges against Jeff Marder, but so far, Marder hasn’t been arrested or charged with anything.

Really wish people would STOP USING children as pawns. She HAS TO MENTION there’s a 2 year old in the car. As if his behavior, either is 1 WORSE simply because of the presence of a child, or 2 but FOR the presence of the child his behavior is acceptable. Stop trying to over or under value someone’s actions. He’s an ass, yes, REGARDLESS of a child’s presence. You are simply using it to make the story ‘more’
Certain illegal activities in the presence of a minor child can result in additional charges. Therefore, including the info about a child being present is completely rational and pertinent.
It also demonstrates this freaking idiot Jeff to be more dangerous because he’s putting children in a dangerous situation.
I’m sorry but the fact that he was endangering a woman with her child IS more serious because that means there was a minor in danger on top of an adult being in danger… that’s common sense. He is in the wrong either way. But endangering 2 people including a minor is obviously more serious than endangering 1 person
So do children not count towards getting PTSD from traumatic events like this anymore or-
