A former high school basketball coach has been charged with multiple cases of sexual abuse of a student after resigning from Cold Springs High School recently.
Paige Adams, the basketball coach at Cold Springs High School, has been arrested with charges for having sex or deviant sexual intercourse with a student, as well as sexual contact with a minor under 19 years old. Also, Adams faces 30 additional charges for distributing obscenity to a student, according to WBMA, an affiliate of ABC News.
The incident occurred shortly after a special meeting on March 25, at which the Cullman County Board of Education approved Adams’ resignation.
According to Shane Barnette, superintendent of Cold Springs Schools, the resignation followed an investigation into a complaint filed against Adams. During the investigation, Adams was removed from the school premises.
