German Fitness Influencer Says Lufthansa Refused to Board Her Over Sports Bra and Shorts: “You’re Naked”

A German fitness influencer, Edda Elisa, said in her TikTok video at the airport that Lufthansa staff refused to let her board a flight while she was wearing a sports bra and short shorts, telling her she was effectively “naked” and had to put on more clothing before she could fly.

“So guys, I’m here at the airport right now, and I’m waiting for this video for a serious official statement from Lufthansa, because what I just experienced there is just ridiculous,” she said.

Elisa said she was traveling on a sports ticket and that it was hot outside when she tried to board.

“It’s 30 degrees outside, and I was about to board the plane. I have this sports ticket from TV, and I’m standing at the counter, and the woman who scanned the boarding pass, or tried to, looks at me and says, ‘You can’t board like that,’ and I’m like, ‘Why can’t I board?'” she said.

According to Elisa, the agent objected to her outfit.

“She’s like, ‘Yeah, you’re not wearing anything,’ but you didn’t check the tone she was talking to me with. She meant I’m naked. I’m naked. This is a sports outfit. It’s 30 degrees outside. ‘You have to put something on.’ What am I supposed to wear? This is clothing,” she said.

Elisa said she was directed to step aside and was told she could board only after covering up.

“She told me I’m not wearing normal clothes and I have to put something over it. She meant, ‘You go to the side, and you can only board when you’re wearing something.’ So I had to put on this jacket, and then I stood there and tried to board,” she said.

She said the agent then told her to zip the jacket and blamed her for delaying the flight.

“She’s like, ‘No, you have to zip it up.’ I’m like, ‘Okay, dude, it’s 30 degrees outside.’ I zipped it up, and then she’s like, ‘Yeah, and because of you we’re getting delayed now, and because of you the whole flight is going to be late, because you’re holding up the whole traffic here,’ and I’m like, ‘Okay,'” she said.

Elisa questioned whether the policy was applied consistently, saying she had never heard of a dress code for a flight.

“But I just asked what the reason was, because I’ve never heard of a dress code on a plane. Guys are dying drunk getting on the plane when they come from Mallorca, and I’m not allowed to board with shorts,” she said.

She said her objection was less about the requirement than about how it was enforced, and she addressed the airline directly.

“It’s just about the way. If she shows me the rule, it’s okay, I accept rules, but the way she does it. Lufthansa, why do you have such employees, seriously?” she said.
