It’s the most wonderful time of the year. And what is the Christmas season without the “feel goods” and classic films?

Max Mercer, played by Archie Yates, is the new face of the classic “Home Alone” legacy. The original “Home Alone” debuted in 1990 starring Macaulay Culkin and gave the youth generation a whole new meaning on what kids will do to save their favorite holidays. Although the original “Home Alone” series became a nostalgic film for audiences reflecting on their childhoods and what Christmas means to them around this special time of the year, Archie Yates believes that “Home Sweet Home Alone” is not entirely in comparison.

Despite certain critics and fans of the original “Home Alone” adaptations that may question whether Yates felt pressure taking over an iconic role, he felt none whatsoever due to the film not being a “remake” or “reenactment” in his eyes; therefore, he categorized the two films of being within the same universe. Yates was focused on bringing a new element to his role and establishing chemistry with Aisling Bea, who plays his mother, Carol, in the film. Aisling Bea’s energy was incredibly bright during the interview as her natural personality confirmed she is perfect for the comedy genre. Fans can be reassured that the dynamic portrayed between Max Mercer and Carol on screens for “Home Sweet Home Alone” was authentic during their interview as they cracked jokes, shared laughs, and Bea playfully decided that their cream colored backdrop setting was actually their beautiful scenery of New York city for this interview.

Although the rest of the cast may not have had previous experience with filming for Disney, this one actress has been a part of the legacy of a certain iconic animation series in Disney’s history. Ally Maki, starring as Mei, has done voice overs for “Toy Story 4” and “Lamp Life”. Despite enjoying the experience she had with growing as an actress while doing voice overs for the animations and having to strengthen her imagination when recording her reactions, she doesn’t have a preference between doing voice overs or being on screen since she’s passionate about her craft overall. Not only did Maki think the role of Mei was handled with creative freedom, but she loved her character’s fashionable wardrobe. When brainstorming what background story that Maki wanted to give ‘Mei’, she decided that her character was from L.A. and was a failed singer in preparation for the role. Does that fit the eccentric character of ‘Mei’ who Maki described as being someone who’s so much of her own? Definitely.

While the new trailers have been released by Disney Plus’ for the new film “Home Sweet Home Alone”, fans across social media have expressed their delight in seeing that legendary comedic actress Ellie Kemper from the hit series “The Office” and film “21 Jump Street” is starring as ‘Pam’ alongside Rob Delaney from “Deadpool 2” starring as her husband ‘Jeff’. Audiences will see this couple in the film trying to save their home from being sold by attempting to rob Max Mercer’s home for a prized possession with a hefty price tag, keeping their kids suspensiones low, and keeping their robbery attempt as discreet as possible; however, Max Mercer has other ideas for the two in mind. The role of parenting for the actors came natural due to their experience with their own kids and adding their own flair for the comedic film. Kemper and Delaney knew from the moment they read over the script that this was a special project they wanted to be a part of.
