Amazon’s Prime Video has just released the trailer for the fifth and final season of The Boys, and it’s safe to say that the endgame has officially begun.

The award-winning series is set to release its final season on April 8, 2026, with two episodes to kick off the season. After that, new episodes will be released weekly until the season finale on May 20, 2026. The whole season can be streamed on Prime Video across over 240 countries and territories.

From what can be gathered, it promises to be a wild ending as the core group gets ready for one showdown that will determine the course of a world filled with Supes.

Homelander’s World

As it turns out, season five is set in a world where Homelander, played by Antony Starr, is basically calling the shots and making his own rules based on his crazy ego.

As far as The Boys are concerned, Hughie Campbell, Mother’s Milk, and Frenchie are currently locked up in a place called a “Freedom Camp.”

Starlight is trying to organize a rebellion against the ever-growing Supes empire. Kimiko is missing.

Billy Butcher, played by Karl Urban, returns with a plan that could turn everything on its head. He is willing to unleash a virus that could wipe out all the superpowered people on the planet and change the world we know.

“A Violent Satire Reaches Its End”

Since its inception in 2019, The Boys has grown into one of the top original series on Prime Video, known for its graphic content, black humor, and scathing satire on celebrity culture, politics, and superheroes.

It is based on the hit comic book series by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, and both are on board as executive producers, along with showrunner Eric Kripke.

Other executive producers include Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Pavun Shetty, Phil Sgriccia, Michaela Starr, Paul Grellong, David Reed, Judalina Neira, Jessica Chou, Gabriel Garcia, Ori Marmur, Ken F. Levin, and Jason Netter.

Produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios, in association with Kripke Enterprises, Original Film, and Point Grey Pictures.
