Ilona Maher, a professional athlete who competed in the Olympic rugby in Tokyo and won a bronze medal in Paris, shared her opinion on the shortage of contraceptives. This problem seems to have become a subject of discussion among journalists, and, according to the player, there is no need to create a scandal over it.

In fact, Maher competed in the Olympic Games in Tokyo and Paris and won a bronze medal with her team in Paris. In an interview, she pointed out that many participants of the event saved some condoms as souvenirs rather than using them in sports.

“These past Winter Olympics, there was a rumor that over 10,000 condoms were used. Now, some were probably used for that purpose, but I’m gonna here to tell you, a lot of them were used as souvenirs.”

Maher speaks from her experience, explaining that athletes save such contraceptives during the Games, which is why they run out quite quickly.

“When I went to the Olympics, I went in and grabbed a handful, and now I have them forever. I was on my bedside table the other day. I found a condom from Tokyo. How cool is that?”

Then the athlete described her actions as a psychological game.

“I’ll set the scene for you. I have a man over. We’re gonna get a little spicy. I say, hey, you, let’s use protection. Always use protection, ladies.”

Maher described how she got this condom and used it for her purposes.

“I go in, I grab a condom from the Olympics. I let him know. I say, you know, oh, this one, this one. I competed in the Olympics. I’ve now asserted dominance. I’m now in his head. I now have let him know I expect performance. An Olympic performance. I expect results.”

However, Maher admitted it did not work.

“We won’t use this cause this is expired. But I will put it back. And now he knows what is expected of him.”

Thus, the athlete explained that there was no need for participants in the Games to use all available condoms, and that the souvenir collection had been done to the detriment of the rest.
