New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs is at the center of a growing paternity scandal, just as he and rapper Cardi B prepare to welcome their first child together.
According to court documents obtained by People on September 18, Diggs is involved in a court case with socialite Aileen Lopera, also known online as Lord Gisselle, following allegations that the 31-year-old ex-NFL star fathered a baby girl with Lopera in April.
Court records date back to 2024
The case is almost as old as it is tragic. It was in December of 2024 that Lopera submitted paperwork to determine the parental relationship of their unborn baby. She then asked to be granted sole physical and legal custody of the child, but left open the possibility for Diggs to be granted visitation, sources close to People reported.
Lopera later identified her daughter as Charliee Harper Diggs Lopera, and her lawyer argues that the wide receiver should be financially responsible for her.
Diggs Pushes Back
The court documents report that Diggs has challenged paternity and asked for genetic testing before reaching any agreements for custody. The footballer, already a father to an eight-year-old daughter named Nova from another relationship, has stated that if he is found to be the father of Charliee, he would seek joint legal and physical custody.
Diggs has also requested that the court implement an equitable repayment program for the “reasonable costs” he described as related to Lopera’s pregnancy, the child’s birth, and related legal costs.
Lopera’s lawyer speaks out.
Tamar G. Arminak, Lopera’s attorney, released a statement to People:
“My client looks forward to the day Mr. Diggs acknowledges and provides for his infant daughter in Los Angeles.”
Thus far, Diggs has said nothing publicly about it. Where Is The Buzz reached out to the Patriots star for comment, but the response has not been received
