An investigation conducted by retired judge Lord Dyson finds that the BBC “fell short of the high standards of integrity and transparency which are its hallmark” in regards to former BBC journalist Martin Bashir’s 1995 Panorama interview with Diana, Princess of Wales. The inquiry concluded that Bashir commissioned fake bank statements to obtain the interview and then lied to BBC managers about them.
