SLO County DA’s Office offered 5 out of the 7 San Luis Obispo Black Lives Matter activists a misdemeanor diversion for a protest that occurred on July 21st of last year. The misdemeanor diversion would allow them to do community service instead of face any jail time. If convicted the protestors could face up to six months in County Jail and a $1,000 fine.

One of the protestor that was left out of the deal was Tianna Arata. Arata faces 13 misdemeanors for allegedly blocking off a highway and has been accused of throwing a skateboard that broke a car back window. She’s only one on trial facing a felony charges.

The 5 defendants that was offered a misdemeanor diversion expressed no interest in taking that deal, according to the SLO Tribune.

One of the attorneys working this case revealed to the Everyday Injustice Podcast that Law Enforcement still haven’t released any footage of the protestors that are on trial committing any crimes. He also goes depth on how Law Enforcements are fighting the press about releasing this alleged video.
