Ambulance is the new action-packed thriller from the action OG himself Michael Bay. When big brother Danny (Jake Gyllenhaal) enlists his adoptive baby brother Will (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) to join him in a bank heist, Will hesitantly jumps at the opportunity due to the desperation of saving his wife’s life by paying for her needed surgery. When the robbery is botched and goes wrong, the brother duo steals an ambulance injuring an officer, and holding a paramedic (Eiza González) hostage.
Like most of Bay’s films, Ambulance is not just any type of action film or about any regular bank heist. Michael Bay tends to put his characters and their stories in front of the action and thriller and that’s what we love about his films.
On Monday, we had the opportunity to cover the ‘Ambulance’ premiere where we spoke to the cast and director Michael Bay. One theme that stuck through and a theme that was very important to tell the story was the third character: Los Angeles. Michael Bay had a history of filming not only in LA but all across the world. But it was only right to come back to the place where Bay grew up and film with real-life residents of Los Angeles.
“Ambulance” will be released by Universal Pictures and is set to hit theaters on April 8th. 2022!
