Following praise for her songwriting style from Tom Robinson on BBC 6 Music, Music Crowns, Skope Mag and Love Life; Love Music, Jay Moussa-Mann returns with a feel good summer love song ‘One Summer’s Day’. The 80s/90s inspired bop, highlights upbeat synth and guitar driven adventure with her signature lyrical style. ‘One Summer’s Day’, draws listeners into a love story about a girl learning to drive one summer in Turkey and meeting a guy who offers to let her borrow his very fancy car. The track paints a whimsical, soundscape of a nostalgic summer, full of dreams and unrequited love.
“I think I was going for Turkey’s answer to All Too Well,” Jay laughs. “No, in all seriousness, there’s something mysterious and addictive about unrequited love stories or timing never working out. I wanted to try and describe this one summer that really stuck with me. I wanted to capture that feeling of Mediterranean evenings, motorbike rides and adventure.”
‘One Summer’s Day’ is definitely a song for the summer and will appeal to fans of Maisie Peters and Taylor Swift with an extra dash of 90s nostalgia.
Jay’s new single “One Summer’s Day” will be available on all platforms on June 24th.
