Joaquin Phoenix calls out systemic racism and lack of diversity at the BAFTAs

The Joker actor addressed the lack of diversity among BAFTA nominees and within the film industry while accepting the Best Actor trophy at the 73rd EE British Academy Film Awards on Sunday. “We have to do the hard work to truly understand systemic racism,” he said.
