President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris are delivered remarks at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, on Friday evening after meeting with Asian-American community leaders and state lawmakers from the Asian-American and Pacific Islander community.

“For all the good that laws can do, we must change our hearts. Hate can have no safe harbor in America. It must stop. It’s on all of us together to make us stop.”

Biden also said: “They’ve been attacked, blamed, scapegoated & harassed. They’ve been verbally assaulted, physically assaulted & killed,” he said. “It’s been a year of living in fear for their lives.”

The visit comes after eight people were killed, including six Asian women, in three businesses in the Atlanta area.

“My heart goes out to all…our prayers are with you.” President Biden to the families of the Atlanta shooting spree.
