Many believed Jussie Smollett allegedly staged his attack because he was trying to get paid more from his role on Empire or he trying to seek more attention.

Well it looks like it’s deeper than. According to Page Six, the actor actually told cops he has an untreated drug problem. TMZ even noted that the “Empire” star has purchased drugs from one of the men involved in the case and it’s possibly a move that may help him get less prison time if he is convicted.

Jussie Smollett has been released from police custody. After posting his $100,000 dollar bail.
