Kali Uchis is scrambling to distance herself from singer D4vd after startling revelations that connected him to the horrific discovery of the body of a 15-year-old girl in a Tesla that is owned by him. The Colombian-American star has actually confirmed that she is pulling her song “Crashing” with the 20-year-old R&B artist David Anthony Burke.
“Not my friend i did a song with him which is currently in the process of being taken down given today’s disturbing news,” Uchis wrote under a fan’s Instagram comment that referred to D4vd as her “friend.”
When another commentator called her out for even taking the time to reply, Uchis went into double overtime. “its ok bb women like her are the reason women always take the blame for the transgressions of men lol, the internalized misogyny of this world I guess,” was her reply.
The song was included in D4vd’s first studio album, Withered, along with a music video release. However, following the investigation, all of his prominent collaborators, such as Tyler, the Creator, and Daniel Caesar, have all been unfollowed by them.
The Victim: Celeste Rivas
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner revealed that the victim was 15-year-old Celeste Rivas. TMZ has it that Rivas and D4vd had identical tattoos of their right index finger with the word “Shhh…” etched over it.
Celeste’s mother verified that her daughter was missing in April 2024 and was in a romantic relationship with someone named “David.” Alarming enough, D4VD scrapped a Seattle show mere hours after the identity of Celeste was revealed.
Even more chilling, one of D4vd’s leaked songs initially circulated online in December 2023 as “Celeste_Demo unfin” repeatedly references the name “Celeste.”
In the track, he sings:
“Oh, Celeste / The girl with my name tattooed on her chest / Smell her on my clothes like cigarettes…”
The lyrics suggest a romantic relationship with someone named Celeste long before her disappearance.
History of Troubling Similarities
September 7, 2022: D4VD releases popular single “Romantic Homicide” on the day that was also.
December 2023: “Celeste_Demo unfin” appears on the web, including intimate.
April 2024: Rivas is missing from Lake Elsinore, CA.
September 2025: Her body is discovered dismembered in a D4vd Tesla that was towed in Hollywood.
Stirring up even more doubts, online pictures surfaced this week of D4vd at Lake Elsinore, close to the home where Celeste went missing. Another of the popular pictures appears to show him with a girl who resembles Rivas, yet authorities could not confirm her identity in the image.
Netizens are also alleging that D4vd paid people to hide the actual age of Celeste.
Where Things Stand
At the moment, authorities haven’t officially accused D4vd of being involved in the murder of Celeste, yet the strength of all the circumstantial evidence from matching tattoos to leaked verse to timeline to personal connections is drawing up a profoundly disturbing picture.
His Seattle appearance was suddenly canceled on Wednesday evening and is thus presumably ended with Hill flying back to Los Angeles. Radio silence from the crooner has only served to fuel a common rumor, while associates and fans rush to distance themselves from him.
For Kali Uchis, the choice was quick: sever relationships, yank the music, and talk openly about the misogynistic culture that far too often shames women when male contemporaries find themselves accused of violent offenses. As the case continues to unfold, the music industry is waiting in anticipation to see if D4vd will be formally charged and if his formerly stratospheric career is over for good.
