While tying Eminem for second place, Kanye West nabbed his eighth number album in a row on the Billboard 200 chart with his latest studio feat ‘Ye.’
The June 1-released album, via G.O.O.D. Music/Def Jam, scored 210,000 equivalent album units (85,000 in traditional sales) in the week ending June 7, per Nielsen Music.

In addition, reports state that it was the fifth-largest week for an album this year and the seventh-largest streaming debut week ever, equating to 250 million on-demand audio streams.
In addition to ‘Ye,’ Kanye scored the top spot beginning with 2005’s Late Registration, Graduation, 808s & Heartbreak, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, Watch the Throne (with JAY-Z), Yeezus and The Life of Pablo.
Furthermore, Yeezy could make it a record-breaking nine straight wins, should he and Kid Cudi‘s joint album ‘Kids See Ghosts‘ follow suit.
Kanye West is only behind Jay-Z for most number one albums on the Billboard 200 chart. Jay-Z has the lead with 14 albums debuting at number one at the Billboard 200 charts.
Additionally, if the album fails to debut at number one, it could wreck Kanye’s streak. We’ll see!
