In the highly anticipated HBO Original documentary “LIL NAS X: LONG LIVE MONTERO,” directors Carlos López Estrada and Zac Manuel unveil an intimate portrayal of Lil Nas X’s ascent to stardom and the transformative power of his “Long Live Montero” tour. Premiering on Saturday, January 27, the film offers an unprecedented behind-the-scenes look at the Grammy award-winning artist’s first headlining U.S. tour.

The documentary unfolds over 60 days, divided into three acts—Rebirth, Transformation, and Becoming—mirroring the evolution of Montero Hill, the Atlanta-born artist, from the breakout success of “Old Town Road” to his current status as a genre-breaking phenomenon. With unmatched access, the film delves beneath the surface, capturing Lil Nas X’s journey of self-discovery, creative exploration, and nightly performances that captivate his dedicated fanbase.

As Montero navigates the pressures of stardom, the film reveals a multifaceted artist who uses his music not only to entertain but to express deeply personal narratives.
