The mystery surrounding the cause of ‘Friends’ star Matthew Perry’s death has been unveiled nearly two months after he was found dead at his home. TMZ obtained Perry’s autopsy report, which states the cause of death as the acute effects of ketamine.

Perry was reportedly undergoing ketamine infusion therapy for depression and anxiety, with his last known treatment more than a week before his passing.

Despite the drug’s short half-life, ketamine was found in Perry’s system at the time of his death. Contributing factors listed in the report include drowning, coronary artery disease, and the effects of buprenorphine, a drug prescribed for the medical treatment of opioid dependence.

The manner of Perry’s death is deemed accidental, attributed to a combination of drug and drowning-related effects. No foul play is suspected, and although prescription medications were present at Perry’s home, none were found near the pool where he died.

Matthew Perry’s death certificate, obtained by TMZ a month earlier, revealed that the actor passed away on October 28 at 4:17 p.m. in his hot tub. Perry’s stepfather, Keith Morrison, served as the informant for the certificate. The burial occurred on November 3 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles.

The revelation of Perry’s cause of death provides some closure for fans and the public, shedding light on the complex circumstances surrounding the actor’s untimely demise.
