A new comedy series based on “The Big Bang Theory” is being developed by Max and Chuck Lorre, who serves as executive producers. Warner Bros. Television, where Lorre has an overall deal, is working on the project.
The plot is currently being kept under wraps. Through Chuck Lorre Productions, Lorre will be the executive producer. Max, Lorre, and WBTV would collaborate on the new show for the second time. The brand-new Max Original comedy series “How to Be a Bookie,” starring Sebastian Maniscalco, is currently in production thanks to Lorre and Nick Bakay.
After the prequel “Young Sheldon,” which began with Iain Armitage playing “The Big Bang Theory” character Sheldon Cooper when he was nine years old, living with his family in East Texas, and attending high school, this would be the second series based on the world of “The Big Bang Theory.” The CBS comedy Young Sheldon, now in its sixth season, is the most-watched show among Total Viewers.
In the United States, you can watch all of “The Big Bang Theory” and “Young Sheldon’s” first five seasons on Max. “The Big Bang Theory” premiered in 2007 and was the most popular comedy in the world when it ended its successful 12-season run in 2019 as the longest multi-camera television series with 279 episodes. The show received 55 Emmy® nominations and won ten Emmy® Awards. The Humanitas Prize and a Critics Choice TV Award for Outstanding Comedy Series were also awarded to “The Big Bang Theory.”
The “Big Bang Theory” Scholarship Endowment at UCLA was established in 2015 by The Chuck Lorre Family Foundation to assist undergraduate students pursuing higher education in STEM fields who need financial assistance. The “Big Bang Theory” UCLA scholars who continue their STEM education in graduate school within the University of California system will be eligible to receive four-year scholarships from the “Big Bang Theory” Graduate School Fund in 2019.
