R&B singer Jhené Aiko, 36, has revealed that her Los Angeles home was destroyed in the recent wildfires sweeping through Southern California.

In an Instagram Story posted on January 9, 2025, Aiko shared the devastating news, stating, “Me and my children’s home is gone. Burned to the ground with all of our things inside. Lord have mercy. Thankful we still have each other. Starting from scratch. My heart is so heavy.”

Aiko, who shares a 2-year-old son, Noah Hasani, with rapper Big Sean, and is also mother to 16-year-old daughter Namiko Love, expressed gratitude for her family’s safety despite the loss.

She continued to convey her empathy for others affected by the fires, writing, “Praying for everyone this morning. Those who lost their home. Those who lost their life’s work, those who lost their life. Praying for my city. Praying for the wild life and lost pets. Praying for the world. Let suffering be a gift; a lesson in compassion.”

The wildfires, which began earlier this week, have devastated large areas of Los Angeles, prompting evacuations of approximately 30,000 residents, including numerous celebrities. The Pacific Palisades neighborhood, known for its affluent residents, has been particularly hard hit. Strong winds reaching up to 100 mph have exacerbated the situation, making firefighting efforts challenging and preventing the use of aerial support.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass has declared a state of emergency, and California Governor Gavin Newsom has visited the affected areas to coordinate emergency responses. Despite the efforts of over 1,400 firefighters, the fires remain largely uncontained due to the ongoing dry and windy conditions.

Aiko’s loss adds her to the growing list of celebrities whose homes have been destroyed by the fires. Others include Leighton Meester and Adam Brody, Anna Faris, Ricki Lake, Cary Elwes, Cameron Mathison, Spencer Pratt, and Heidi Montag.

The singer’s resilience and focus on compassion during this difficult time resonate with many who are facing similar hardships. As the community begins the process of rebuilding, Aiko’s words serve as a reminder of the importance of unity and empathy in the face of adversity.
