Naomi Osaka Announces Split from Cordae

Tennis star Naomi Osaka has confirmed her separation from rapper Cordae, with whom she shares a daughter named Shai.

In a recent Instagram story, Osaka stated, “No bad blood at all, he’s a great person and an awesome dad. Honestly really glad our paths crossed because my daughter is my biggest blessing and I was able to grow a lot from our experiences together.”

The couple began dating in 2019 and welcomed their daughter in July 2023. In October 2023, Osaka sparked breakup rumors by posting cryptic messages on social media and removing photos of Cordae from her Instagram account. She wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “I just want someone that will watch the sunset with me,” and “The art of loving yourself.”

Despite the separation, Osaka’s recent comments highlight a commitment to maintaining a positive co-parenting relationship for the well-being of their daughter. She expressed gratitude for their time together, noting personal growth and the blessing of their child.

Osaka, a four-time Grand Slam singles champion, has been open about her personal life and mental health challenges. She took a break from professional tennis in 2023 due to pregnancy and returned to competition in 2024.

Cordae, known for his critically acclaimed music career, has not publicly commented on the separation.
