On Saturday, Netflix revealed the first look at One Piece, its live-action adaptation series based on Japan’s highest-selling manga series in history by Eiichiro Oda, at the Tudum fan event in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Eiichiro Oda, creator of ‘ONE PIECE,’ is one of the live action series’ executive producers. Inaki Godoy plays Monkey D. Luffy, Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Taz Skylar as Sanji, and Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp. The upcoming Netflix series will consist of eight episodes.

The rest of the cast features Morgan Davies as Koby, Ilia Isorelýs Paulino as Alvida, Aidan Scott as Helmeppo, Jeff Ward as Buggy, McKinley Belcher III as Arlong, Vincent Regan as Garp, Peter Gadiot as Shanks, Alexander Maniatis as Klahadore, Steven Ward as Mihawk, Craig Fairbrass as Chef Zeff, Langley Kirkwood as Captain Morgan, Celeste Loots as Kaya, Chioma Umeala as Nojiko.
Matt Owens (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Luke Cage) and Steven Maeda (The X-Files, CSI: Miami, Lost) serve as writers, executive producers, and showrunners on the live-action series.
The live-action adaptation of ONE PIECE will premiere on Netflix on August 31st.
