An all-new trailer has just been released for director Ridley Scott’s “The Dog Stars,” a post-apocalyptic thriller opening exclusively in theaters August 28.
The film is an adaptation of the best-selling novel of the same name by Peter Heller and stars Jacob Elordi as Hig. He’s a young pilot who has established an isolated homestead in a post-apocalyptic world with a former soldier and survivor named Bangley (Josh Brolin). After a radio transmission arrives on his doorstep, he journeys into the void seeking out the hope and humanity he still feels exists.
Other actors appearing in the ensemble are Margaret Qualley, Allison Janney, Benedict Wong, and Guy Pearce.
Mark L. Smith penned the screenplay from Heller’s novel, with Scott, Michael Pruss, and Cliff Roberts producing. Lily Brooks-Dalton, Brandon Scott Smith, Heller, and Aidan Elliott executive produce.
