This remarkable figure represents not only the highest sales week for a female rap album this year, but also the highest sales week in this decade.
Breaking down the numbers, streaming equivalent album units accounted for 129,000 (equivalent to 169.87 million on-demand official streams), total sales reached 92,000, and track equivalent album units amounted to 7,000.
Notably, Pink Friday 2 vinyl sales contributed a substantial 25,000 copies to this groundbreaking feat, representing the most significant week for a rap album by a woman since sales tracking began electronically in 1991.
In achieving her third No. 1 album with Pink Friday 2, Nicki Minaj surpasses the previously tied record with Foxy Brown, securing her place as the female rapper with the most chart-topping albums. This achievement not only underscores Nicki’s ongoing dominance in the rap genre but also paves the way for future women in hip-hop to make their mark on the charts.
