Chloe Bailey has been receiving mix reactions for performing Nina Simone’s ‘Feeling Good’ at the ABC’s ‘Juneteenth: Together We Triumph’ special.

Nina Simone estate recently tweeted their disappointment for Chloe Bailey performance.

Nina Simone’s granddaughter RéAnna Simone Kelly defends Chlöe Bailey after criticism of her performance of “Feeling Good” being too sexy:

“grandma was a free spirited woman herself!! She would’ve loved that performance as much as I do!”

Simone granddaughter adds: “Grandma was unapologetically herself. She was a muhhhfuckin badass woman who did what she wanted when she wanted. She was a sexual woman and she expressed that.”

RéAnna Simone Kelly also revealed her family doesn’t run Nina Simone’s estate after it was taken from them by white people. She also wants people to hold Kamala Harris accountable.

“Nina’s granddaughter here. My family doesn’t run her estate anymore. It was taken away from us & given to white people. Our family name was DRAGGED in the media. We get NO royalties, nothing. Wanna hold someone accountable? Ask Kamala Harris why she came for my family”

Nina Simone always supported black womens liberation and she would’ve probably supported Chloe Baileys performance.

Simone said herself said she wanted Black women to be confident, in control, and defining themselves. Chloe Bailey was feeling free while performing her song.
