Olivia Rodrigo has revealed the title and release date for her highly anticipated sophomore album. It is titled “Guts” and will be released on September 8th, just in time to meet the September 15th eligibility deadline for the 2024 Grammys.
Rodrigo announced the album on Instagram Monday, June 26th. “My sophomore album GUTS comes out september 8th,” Rodrigo wrote in her Instagram caption. “i am so proud of this record and I can’t wait to share it with you all! u can presave it now!”
Rodrigo reunites with Dan Nigro, who produced hit tracks such as “drivers license,” “good 4 u,” and “deja vu” on her Grammy-winning album.
“For me, this album is about growing pains and trying to figure out who I am at this point in my life,” Olivia says. “I feel like I grew 10 years between the ages of 18 and 20—it was such an intense period of awkwardness and change. I think that’s all just a natural part of growth, and hopefully the album reflects that.”
The album announcement comes just a few days after the pop singer revealed the title of the album’s first single, “Vampire,” which is set to be released this Friday (June 30). A preview of the upcoming single can be found below.

When did Olivia Rodrigo become a pop star?
Rodrigo’s stardom reached a new level in 2021, experiencing an almost unprecedented level of immediate success for a debut artist. Previously, she was best known for her role in “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series,” and her debut single, “Drivers License,” debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and stayed there for eight weeks.
The pop star next single, “Deja Vu,” charted in the top ten. “Good 4 U,” her third single, propelled her back to the top of the Hot 100. Following that, her debut album “Sour” was released to widespread acclaim and critical acclaim on streaming services. She won the Grammy for Best New Artist in 2021, which was a foregone conclusion at that point.

changed the color of olivia rodrigo’s cover for ‘GUTS’ because i’m honestly sick of the purple theme, it should have stayed in the sour era. pic.twitter.com/M6T7uDGH1m

me explaining that olivia rodrigo isnt dumb and doesnt need a new designer cus the theme for GUTS is red not purple bcs guts.. ur insides..are red and vampire is red and the reason its purple rn is because in the vampire music videos shes gonna “kill” her old era, turning it red pic.twitter.com/zkOYPcBItB
