The movie take place in Los Angeles around 1969. Leonardo DiCaprio stars as Hollywood actor Rick Dalton (who gets very emotional when a little girl tells him how good his acting is) and Brad Pitt plays Rick’s stunt double Cliff Booth. Rick has Cliff kung-fu fight with Bruce Lee (Mike Moh) because he doesn’t want to risk being killed by the greatest fighter to have ever exist.
Margot Robbie portrays the late Sharon Tate, who’s seen in a few parts in the trailer, along with Playboy bunnies, hippies and other hallmarks of the era.
The 1960s and early 1970s was the cowboy era of the 20th Century. The will be Quentin Tarantino ninth film and it’s been well documented that Tarantino only wants to create ten movies. The film is supposed to have a $100 million dollar budget. The Esquire, reported that Leonardo DiCaprio took a pay cut for this film. He usually only does a film for $20 million dollars or more. Leo took $10 million dollars to be apart of this film. This will be Leo first film since his Oscar Award Winning performance in The Revenant.
This will be the first time Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio will star in a movie with each other. The two have been in the business for over 25 years, which is weird they haven’t collaborated with each other through their journeys. This will be the second time Leo will be on set with Margot Robbie. They both starred in a blockbuster movie Wolf of Wall Street.
The film is expected to do around $175 million to $225 million first week at the box office. The trailer is down below.
