Dear Readers, I’m not Lady Thistledown, but I’m here to let you know that our favorite Victorian-era show has returned. Bridgerton is back, bigger, different, and from someone else’s perspective… Queen Charlotte.
Despite the fact that this is a brand-new show and story, we are still able to recognize our favorite locations and family members. In this version, we get a look inside the life of young Queen Charlotte, including how she became queen, her early years on the throne, her relationship with her husband George, and new information about the queen that may surprise fans. We also met new characters as well as younger versions of your favorite characters.
I recently spoke with Sam Clemmett and Freddie Dennis, two of “Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story’ stars. Sam plays Brimsley, the younger version of the character we met in Bridgeton as the queen’s right-hand man. In this version, we meet a young, sweet, gullible, and ambitious Brimsley who is eager to work with the queen but never afraid to speak and live his truths. Freddie plays Reynolds, a new character and player on the show. Reynolds, like Brimsley, serves as the King’s right-hand man and valet.
The two discussed what it was like to work on an already famous, popular, and well-known show, as well as what it was about the roles that drew them to the storyline.
As a Bridgeton fan, I enjoy this version of Queen Charlotte’s story, and I appreciate a good prequel. It excites me that we will learn the backstories of so many of our favorite characters and witness the development of relationships that may still leave you with unanswered questions.
I believe you will all enjoy the show as much as I did and fall in love with the younger versions of characters who were previously difficult to feel out and read.
Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story will be available on Netflix worldwide on May 4.
