Social media influencer and professional golfer Paige Spiranac has become the focus of internet wrath over complaining about people using FaceTime in public on speakerphone at maximum volume.
On her page on X, she noted that having FaceTime conversations “at max volume in public deserves jail time.”
The message found a lot of support among internet users, who showed their agreement with the complaint by liking and commenting under the post, suggesting different kinds of punishment for those using speakerphones. These punishments included hard work and even taking away people’s devices.
Several users shared their frustration with people talking loudly on their phones in public places. One of them mentioned that oversharing private conversations in public was a symptom of “main character syndrome” and added that “it’s boggling” how excited some people get about telling everyone around everything about themselves.
One more user joked that there should be jail cells for loud FaceTime speakers right next to jail cells for people playing music in public without earphones.
The third user expressed an opinion similar to Paige’s, saying that it drives her crazy when she hears other people’s conversations on speakerphone, whether it is FaceTime or just a normal call.
