While you may have believed that the Florida Keys were just another tourist trap for sun-loving individuals, Peacock is happy to tell you otherwise and to do it with violent, stylish flair across nine hours of television.
In today’s reveal, the network has released the official trailer for M.I.A., a new crime drama centered on Etta Tiger Jonze, a young woman who has grown tired of her life in the Florida Keys and wants the thrill and excitement of sunny, subtropical Miami. M.I.A. is scheduled to debut on May 7, 2026, with all nine episodes arriving in one fell swoop.
Not surprisingly, there isn’t much time wasted before trouble finds Etta. After the collapse of her family’s drug trafficking operation, our protagonist finds herself involved with the neon-soaked underbelly of Miami as she embarks on a dangerous adventure “to define who she is and what she’s ultimately capable of.”
The series is created, written, and executive produced by Bill Dubuque, who has brought his penchant for dark, moody storytelling to Ozark. Dubuque wrote the first and final episodes of M.I.A. (episodes 101 and 108), setting up what should be an expansive story filled with moral grayness. Showrunner and executive producer Karen Campbell also wrote episode 102.

In total, there are four directors, each helping bring to life the visually stunning depiction of Miami’s moral decay.
Leading the talented cast of M.I.A. is Shannon Gisela, alongside familiar faces such as Cary Elwes, who is obviously done with swashbuckling leads but now looks like he’s playing the role of a villain. Rounding out the cast are Danay Garcia, Brittany Adebumola, Dylan Jackson, Alberto Guerra, Maurice Compte, Gerardo Celasco, and Marta Milans.
Produced by MRC and distributed through Paramount Global Content Distribution, M.I.A. consists of nine episodes, each running for one hour. That adds up to 60 minutes of a terrible week in the Keys.
M.I.A. is slated for release on May 7, 2026, exclusively on Peacock.
