Power Book III: Raising Kanan “The Prequel” Is The Summer Must See 90’s Set Family Drama, That Follows The Coming Of Age Story Of Kanan Stark

With a new theme song and narrated by Executive Producer 50 cent, Powerbook lll takes viewers on a very different journey than what we have become accustomed to in the original PB & PB 2. Questions are answered, mysteries are revealed!

Set in the early ’90s in a gritty Southside Jamaica Queens, Raising Kanan follows the coming of age story of Kanan Stark.

Power Book lll is a family drama that explores the complexities of a family-run drug operation lead by “Raq” Kanan’s mom played by Tony Winner Patina Miller. We see a young Jukebox, played by Hailey Kilgore with a voice of gold navigating her sexuality at an early age and Kanan being her keeper of secrets.

At its core, this is a story of family, loyalty, betrayal, and ultimately who really has the power.

Powerverse fans will be introduced to a cast of new faces with familiar names that instantly dominate the screen.

We recently caught up with the cast including MeKai Curtis, Patina Miller, Omar Epps, London Brown, Hailey Kilgore, Malcolm Mays, and Sascha Penn to discuss what power fans can expect from the new installment.
