Prime Video has officially confirmed that the third and final season of The Summer I Turned Pretty will premiere in July 2025. The global sensation, based on Jenny Han’s best-selling book trilogy, has captivated audiences with its poignant exploration of first love, heartbreak, and self-discovery. Season three will consist of 11 episodes and will be available exclusively on Prime Video in over 240 countries and territories worldwide.

A Phenomenon That Redefined Teen Drama

Since its debut in 2022, The Summer I Turned Pretty has solidified itself as a cultural phenomenon. The series follows Isabel “Belly” Conklin, played by Lola Tung, as she navigates a love triangle with brothers Conrad (Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah Fisher (Gavin Casalegno). But the show isn’t just about teenage romance—it also delves into evolving family dynamics, strong female friendships, and the complexities of growing up.

Season one became the number one show on Prime Video during its premiere weekend, and season two more than doubled its predecessor’s viewership within three days of launch. Now, as the series reaches its grand finale, expectations are higher than ever.

What to Expect in Season Three

The final season is expected to closely follow the events of We’ll Always Have Summer, the third book in Han’s trilogy. In season two, Belly chose Jeremiah over Conrad, but as fans of the books know, that choice isn’t set in stone. With lingering feelings, unresolved tension, and major life changes ahead, season three promises to be the most emotional and dramatic installment yet.

Adding to the intrigue, production photos have revealed Lola Tung filming in Paris, hinting at Belly’s overseas journey—a key storyline in the novel. In the book, Belly distances herself from the Fisher brothers after a breakup, only to receive letters from Conrad, reigniting old emotions.

The Minds Behind the Magic

Season three is helmed by showrunners Jenny Han and Sarah Kucserka, with Han, Kucserka, and Karen Rosenfelt serving as executive producers. Paul Lee, Hope Hartman, and Mads Hansen are also attached as executive producers for Wiip, the co-production company behind the series alongside Amazon Studios.

Jenny Han, the mastermind behind both The Summer I Turned Pretty and To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, has played a hands-on role in adapting her books for television. Han, who also created Netflix’s XO, Kitty, has emphasized that while romance is a key part of the show, Belly’s journey is ultimately one of self-discovery and personal growth.

A Show Defined by Nostalgia and Iconic Music

One of the elements that have made The Summer I Turned Pretty so iconic is its soundtrack. The series has featured multiple Taylor Swift songs, seamlessly woven into the emotional arcs of the characters. In fact, Jenny Han personally wrote a heartfelt letter to Swift to secure the use of The Way I Loved You for a pivotal scene in season two.

The Final Chapter: What Fans Can Expect

As The Summer I Turned Pretty prepares to bow out, fans can expect a finale filled with emotional highs and heartbreaking lows. Will Belly’s heart lead her back to Conrad, or will she finally commit to Jeremiah? How will the characters’ relationships evolve as they step into adulthood?

With the backdrop of stunning coastal scenery, a killer soundtrack, and performances that have resonated with audiences worldwide, season three is set to deliver a satisfying yet bittersweet conclusion to a series that has defined a new generation of teen dramas.

One thing’s for sure—when July arrives, fans will be glued to their screens, tissues in hand, ready to say goodbye to Cousins Beach and the unforgettable summer that changed everything.
