The official trailer for the highly anticipated Amazon Original series Gen V, which is set in the world of The Boys, was released today by Prime Video.
Set in The Boys’ diabolical world, Gen V expands the universe to include Godolkin University, a prestigious superhero-only college where students train to be the next generation of heroes—preferably with lucrative endorsements. You’ve seen what happens when superheroes go bad, but not all superheroes are corrupt from the start. Aside from the usual college craziness of finding oneself and partying, these students are in potentially explosive situations… literally. As students compete for popularity and good grades, it’s clear that when superpowers are involved, the stakes are much higher. When a group of young superheroes discovers that something more sinister is going on at school, they must decide whether they will be the heroes or the villains of their stories.
Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, Shelley Conn, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas, and Marco Pigossi star in the series.
Clancy Brown and Jason Ritter make appearances, as do Jessie T. Usher, Colby Minifie, Claudia Doumit, and P.J. Byrne, who reprise their roles from The Boys.
The showrunners and executive producers are Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters. Executive producers include Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Ori Marmur, Pavun Shetty, Ken Levin, Jason Netter, Garth Ennis, Darick Robertson, Craig Rosenberg, Nelson Cragg, Zak Schwartz, Erica Rosbe, and Michaela Starr.
Brant Englestein, Sarah Carbiener, Lisa Kussner, Gabriel Garcia, Aisha Porter-Christie, Judalina Neira, and Loreli Alans are the co-executive producers.
The Boys is produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon Studios in collaboration with Kripke Enterprises, Point Grey Pictures, and Original Film.
The series will premiere exclusively on Prime Video in over 240 countries and territories around the world on Friday, September 29th, with three episodes, followed by weekly episodes until the epic season finale on Friday, November 3rd.
