Prince Harry is in Pitseng, Lesotho, to unveil a house donated by the charity he co-founded, Sentebale to a local family, as well as to open a school. The Duchess of Sussex did not accompany her husband to the African kingdom.

Prince Harry co-founded Sentebale with his friend, Prince Seeiso of Lesotho – the younger brother of King Letsie III of Lesotho in 2006. The charity’s name “Sentebale” means “forget me not” in the Sesotho language in memory of both their mothers. During the Concert for Diana in 2007, Harry spoke about its name saying that it was selected “as a memorial to the charity work of our own mothers, as well as a reminder to us all not to forget Lesotho or its children.”

Prince Seeiso’s mother, Queen ‘Mamohato at age 62 on 6 September 2003 after collapsing at a Roman Catholic retreat after complaining that she was tired. Of course, the death of Prince Harry’s mother, Diana, Princess of Wales is well-known after she died tragically in a car crash in Paris after being chased by the paparazzi on 31 August 1997. She was just 36.

The Princes, who met during Harry’s gap year in the country in 2004, founded the organisation to “help the most vulnerable children in Lesotho and Botswana get the support they need to lead healthy and productive lives,” according to the charity’s official website.

They also work alongside “local grassroots organisations to help these children – the victims of extreme poverty and the HIV/AIDS epidemic.”

Her Royal Highness Princess Sekhothali Seeiso posted an image on Instagram of the Prince in Lesotho playing with a local child saying, “The Duke of Sussex has donated a home in Pitseng, Kingdom of Lesotho. Lord bless the Duke for his warm heart and giving soul to the nation of the Basotho people.”
