“Reasonable Doubt” Season 4 Trailer Reveals Jax Fighting for Her Life: “This Is Not the End of Your Story”

Hulu just released the official teaser trailer for Reasonable Doubt’s Season 4, giving fans a first look at how the drama will tie up the loose ends left open in season three.

The fourth season of Reasonable Doubt kicks off with its first three episodes on October 6th, then airs a new episode every Tuesday through November 24, exclusively on Disney+ and Hulu.

The series focuses on Los Angeles criminal defense attorney Jacqueline “Jax” Stewart, who struggles with her past traumas, her struggling marriage, her maternity issues, and a murder case to solve to prevent her life from falling apart.

While the finale of season three saw a vengeful Monica, portrayed by Brandee Evans, show up at Jax’s new law firm and shoot, it was never clear whose life would be in danger. The new teaser trailer clears that up. The video shows Jax lying in a hospital bed, barely surviving while on life support, as Lewis Stewart, played by McKinley Freeman, is by her side. Meanwhile, Corey Cash, played by Morris Chestnut, drops by to tell Jax to fight back.

While Monica remains in the county jail and Jax fights for her life, the new trailer also shows Jax’s former law firm trying to steal her clients during her most vulnerable moments. Lewis stays hopeful and tells his wife in the trailer, “This is not the end of your story.”

The official synopsis also reveals that the attack shakes up Jax’s family and her new firm. With Jax’s most loyal client at the heart of a rapidly spiraling media storm, The Stewart Firm faces an epic struggle that could mean life or death. In the face of growing grief and pressure, the team has to decide whether rebuilding is still possible, or whether moving forward might actually cause their destruction.

Eric Cropper, played by Durrell “Tank” Babbs, is the client The Stewart Firm will fight for this coming season. He is the R&B singer, actor, and podcaster who is now appearing in Reasonable Doubt’s Season 4. Meagan Good also joins the cast as Regina Harris, the new district attorney. Other returning cast includes Morris Chestnut, Joseph Sikora, Brandee Evans, La La Anthony, Taylor Polidore Williams, DeVaughn Nixon, Rutina Wesley, and Alexxis Lemire.

Last season showed how Jax fought for former child star Ozzie Edwards, who was accused of murdering his girlfriend Wendy. During the course of it, she found out that Ozzie had been sexually abused as a kid by his manager, Monica, an experience that only fueled his drug addiction. Ozzie was ultimately found not guilty.

Speaking at a press set visit in Atlanta, creator Raamla Mohamed Hunter said she came up with the season’s concept by asking herself a simple question. “What haven’t we seen?”

Mohamed Hunter created, wrote, and executive produced Reasonable Doubt. Kerry Washington is also an executive producer, along with Pilar Savone of Simpson Street, Larry Wilmore of Wilmore Films, Tamara Gregory, Anton Cropper, Lena Cordina, and Erika L. Johnson. Shawn Holley, Jon Leshay, and Zahir McGhee serve as co-executive producers.
