New York-based singer-songwriter Julia Raye adds another chapter to her burgeoning career with the release of her captivating new single, “Expectations,” today. Produced by the acclaimed Bret “Epic” Mazur (Crazy Town, Prince, Black Eyed Peas), the track showcases Raye’s impressive vocal prowess within an alluring R&B-pop soundscape.

A native of Long Island, New York, the 23-year-old Raye has been cultivating her musical talents since childhood. Actively involved in dance and vocal training, she established a strong foundation by performing in numerous local musical theater productions. By the age of 17, Raye had amassed an impressive resume of over twenty musical theater performances, further enriched by prestigious vocal experiences with the New York All-State Choir and ACDA All National Choir. Raye then went on to pursue vocal performance studies at the University of Michigan, where she had the distinct honor of learning from operatic pioneer George Shirley, the Metropolitan Opera’s first African-American performer.
