Second Teaser Poster Released for “Kingdom: Ashin of the North”

Netflix has released the second teaser poster for Kingdom: Ashin of the North, a special episode of the Kingdom series. It details the backstory of Ashin and the origins of the resurrection plant that triggered the avalanche of tragic events that swept through Joseon.

In the poster, Ashin is standing with her back turned amidst black smoke and flames. Armed with just a few arrows, she is facing a legion of soldiers on horseback. As a young girl she had discovered the resurrection plant that brings back the dead. Now, she is fighting a great battle by herself. This striking image of the grown-up Ashin in the middle of a field of the north piques viewers’ interest as to what spirals of fate brought her to this point. The copy reads “Vengeance is coming”, implying that her backstory is enmeshed with the origins of the plague that terrorized Joseon.

If Kingdom Seasons 1 and 2 had dealt with the catastrophic events of the plague spreading like wildfire through the southern lands of Joseon, Kingdom: Ashin of the North takes the viewers to a new, vast landscape of a bygone time. This northern region is where the resurrection plant was first discovered and where the story of its origins unfolds.

Kingdom: Ashin of the North unveils the mystery of Ashin and the origins of the resurrection plant on July 23rd, only on Netflix.
