The woman, whose body was seen on a video in the back of a pick-up truck driven by Palestinian terrorists to Gaza, has been recognized.
Shani Louk, a 30-year-old German citizen, was in Israel as a visitor to attend the music festival for peace, which took place near the Gaza border fence.
Louk was not an IDF soldier, as some claim. She worked as a tattoo artist and reportedly has a 4-year-old son who has been waiting for her return.
Shani Louk’s mother released a statement earlier today:
“This morning my daughter Shani Louk, a German citizen kidnapped by the terrorist group Hamas in the south of Israel. We were sent a video in which we were able to recognize our daughter, unconscious in a car with Hamas headed to Gaza. Please send any help and news you have, thank you.”
On Saturday, the Hamas launched a massive attack on Israel, killing over 300 people and injuring thousands more.
Following months of increasing violence, predominantly in the West Bank, as well as tensions surrounding Gaza’s border and disputed holy sites in Jerusalem, the escalation between the two nations has ensued.
Israel and Hamas have engaged in multiple conflicts since then. The most recent significant military clash, occurring in May, resulted in the death of 34 Palestinians and one Israeli.

At this point we just want the violence to stop between Israel and Palestine.
