Who knew Paige Spiranac wearing glasses would cause this much of a reaction on social media?
Spiranac posted a selfie wearing brown glasses with a “nerdy” face emoji, and fans are losing their minds.
The reaction was immediate, and soon comments poured in, eager and ready to reply.
“Yeah, she can beat me at golf, and I wouldn’t mind,” a contributor revealed, keeping ego in check with a single statement.
“Good morning, Paige. You look good in glasses,” the guy who was trying to offer her niceties said, though that came off as too much, as he stumbled almost immediately.
Others admitted defeat: “It’s too early, Ms. Spiranac,” a taunt that suggested the glasses were a sign of distraction on their way out. “Oh, that explains the reaction,” one joked.
Cultural observers also chimed in. “In movies and TV shows, a woman who wears glasses is considered less attractive. This is simply a myth,” was a fan’s post on Twitter, dispelling a long-established rom-com stereotype.
