A Florida gubernatorial candidate, James Fishback, is proposing what he calls an OnlyFans “Sin Tax,” a 50% state tax on income earned by OnlyFans creators in Florida.

Fishback even targeted one of the platform’s biggest creators on social media.

How Did The James Fishback and Sophie Rain Feud Begin?

Fishback kicked off the clash by tweeting at Rain directly: “Hey @SophieRaiin, Pay up or quit OnlyFans. As Florida Governor, I will not allow a generation of smart and capable young women to sell their bodies online.”

What Does James Fishback Mean By 50% “Sin Tax” For OnlyFans Models?

Fishback has described the proposal in stark terms, positioning it as a centerpiece ambition for his first year in office.

“As Florida governor in year one, I will push for the first of its kind Only Fans Sin Tax,” he said.

He then spelled out the scale: “If you are a so-called OnlyFans creator in Florida, you are going to pay 50% to the state on whatever you so-called earn via that online degeneracy platform…”

And he projected a massive payoff: “We will raise hundreds of millions of dollars of income on the Only Fans Sin Tax.”

Fishback also added a political flourish that doubles as a moral victory lap. If the tax does not bring in the revenue he predicts, he argued that would mean “something even greater” has happened for young people in Florida.

Sophie Rain Shreds Florida Governor Hopeful

Rain’s response landed with the force of someone who believed she was being used as a prop in someone else’s campaign storyline.

“I have not heard of this guy until now, and I have lived in Florida all my life,” Rain told Where Is The Buzz, calling the gubernatorial candidate a clout chaser: “He’s looking for clout.”

Then she went straight for the concept: “First of all, imposing a tax on OnlyFans girls is quite possibly the dumbest thingI’vee ever heard of.”

And she did not stop at mocking it. Rain predicted the plan would collapse the moment it met the machinery of government: “Second of all, you say this bill will be the ‘first of its kind,’ the second that bill gets on the senate floor, it will be the ‘last of its kind.'”

She finished with a dismissal that framed Fishback as unserious: “Go focus on doing your job.”
