TATI GABRIELLE: HOLLYWOOD’S NEWEST ACTION STAR TALKS ‘UNCHARTED’ FILM

Tati Gabrielle first appeared on our radar as the dynamic weird sister Prudence Blackwood in the movie ‘The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”. The end of 2020 saw Tati in “You Season Two” which premiered on Netflix and this time as Marianne, Joe’s co-worker at the library and main love interest (spoiler, one of the few that survives). 

This month Tati makes her debut in “Uncharted”, as Braddock, a military trained psychopathic hitman that uses her beauty and curved blade by the name of karambit in combat. Braddock serves as the film’s main antagonist, teaming up with Moncada (Antonio Banderas) on the quest for the billion fortune.

Uncharted, based on the PlayStation video game of the same name, follows street smart Nathan Drake (Tom Holland) who’s recruited by a seasoned treasure hunter, Victor Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg) to recover a fortune the Ferdinand Magellan fortune lost 500 years ago by the House of Moncada. If Nathan and Victor can find a way to work together, they stand to find the $5 billion dollar prize and possibly Nathan’s long-lost brother in the process. 

Tati joins a star-studded cast of Tom Holland, Mark Wahlberg, and Antonio Banderas. Despite being intimidated initially by the role of Braddock, director Ruben Fleischer knew from the moment Tati auditioned that she was meant for the role.  Fleischer states, “I was compelled by her intensity and her strength, both physically and dramatically”. Her look is so distinctive and fierce. When Tati came in for the audition, she became the character, this composed, menacing, lethal person. Tati, to be in her first-ever film opposite Tom Holland, Mark Wahlberg, and Antonio Banderas has got to be intimidating but you would never know it, she owned the character. 

While Tati has played a badass on screen before (Prudence is a badass-fight me), Braddock is a different type of beast but in our interview, Tati explains the similarities between the two. “I was coming off the back of Sabrina and Braddock really made me [think] what would happen if Prudence grew up that way and didn’t go through redemption that she did, if she never found a better way. I feel like Prudence would’ve turned in Braddock.” 

Uncharted is Tati’s first big feature film and she hopes her fans will come along for the ride. As Tati states, “I’m excited [my fans] get to see me as a badass and also experience me as a different kind of villain.”

In April 2020, Tatyana re-launched Stix Unlimited, a unisex streetwear clothing line founded by her late brother. Tatyana was named one of the “Resilience Rising” by People Magazine and U.S. Bank in honor of her efforts with STIX. In February 2021, Tatyana teamed up with with her mother, Vanessa and sister, Summer to write “The Adventures of Summer and Winter” inspired by her younger sister and puppy of the same name.
