Taylor Swift, less than three days after wrapping up her record-breaking two-year Eras Tour, opted to spend the eve of her 35th birthday visiting Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. The pop superstar wrapped up her final tour performance in Vancouver on December 8 and is set to celebrate her birthday on December 13.

Instead of resting after her grueling 149-show tour that grossed over $2 billion and was attended by more than 10 million fans[1], Swift has opted to give back to the community. A visit to Children’s Mercy Hospital is a clear indication of her continued commitment to philanthropy, especially in support of pediatric healthcare.

This is so typical of Swift, who has made a career out of forming meaningful bonds with her fans and supporting causes. On the Eras Tour, she was full of thanks for her audience, for making the tour the undisputed behemoth that it was.

But of all the places Swift could have visited a hospital, Kansas City holds a special place in her heart due to her boyfriend Travis Kelce, a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, and recent history. She performed two nights of her Eras Tour at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City in July 2023, where she delighted fans with surprise song performances and special moments.

As Swift prepares to turn 35, her choice to spend time with young patients at Children’s Mercy Hospital reflects her values and the importance she places on using her platform for good. It was a touching end to what has been a monumental year for the artist, professionally and personally.
