Megan Thee Stallion continues to have one of the most successful careers within hip-hop with a new set of RIAA certifications. The Houston rapper has brought in a few new honors to add to her already impressive collection and proof of her staying power in popularity and commercial success.
Album and Singles Achievements
Tina Snow, Megan’s breakthrough EP, has now been certified Gold, representing 500,000 equivalent units sold. Further, this certification shows the long-lasting effect that the project has had since its release.
Her hit single “Savage” has reached an astonishing milestone, earning 5x Platinum status. This certification represents 5 million equivalent units, further showing how well the track did commercially and culturally.
New Gold and Platinum Certifications
Some of Megan’s singles have also earned new certifications, including:
- “Anxiety” – Gold
- “What’s New” – Gold
- “Cognac Queen” – Gold
- “Plan B” – Platinum
These certifications show how well-received Megan’s discography has been across her different projects and eras.
“Mamushi” Goes Gold
One of the standout achievements is the Gold certification of “Mamushi,” featuring Japanese rapper Yuki Chiba. This bilingual track, which blends English and Japanese lyrics, has resonated with audiences globally. The song’s success is particularly noteworthy as it marks Yuki Chiba’s first RIAA certification, introducing him to the U.S. market in a significant way.
“Mamushi” became a viral sensation, particularly on TikTok, which gave rise to its release as the fourth single from Megan’s third studio album, Megan. The popularity of the track has stretched out of the streaming platforms and onto urban radio rotations.
Impact and Future Prospects
These new certifications arrive hot on the heels of Megan’s recent success with “Hiss,” which debuted #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and quickly earned a Gold certification. The Hot Girl Summer Tour has almost sold out, and Megan Thee Stallion’s collaboration “Wanna Be” with GloRilla debuted at #11, showing no slowdown in her momentum.
