Taylor Swift surprised everyone at the 2024 Grammy Awards by not only accepting her 13th Grammy but also making a shocking announcement. While reports swirled that Swift would present “Reputation (Taylor’s Version),” she bucked expectations by announcing a brand new project.

Swift used the moment she won the Best Pop Vocal Album award for her 10th studio album, “Midnights,” to announce her 11th studio album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” which will be released on April 19th. The Grammy-winning performer thanked her followers and revealed a secret she had guarded for two years.

“I want to say thank you to the fans by telling you a secret that I’ve been keeping from you for the last two years, which is that my brand new album comes out April 19,” she announced onstage. “It’s called The Tortured Poets Department. I’m gonna go post the cover backstage.”

True to her word, Swift quickly took to Instagram to reveal the album cover, with the statement, “All’s fair in love and poetry… New album THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT. Out April 19.” The post received an incredible 4 million likes in just 15 minutes, demonstrating the artist’s unwavering ability to fascinate and excite her vast fans.
