Terrence Howard is suing 20th Century Fox for failing to pay him his money he’s owed, according to The Blast.
According to the court document, Howard’s company Universal Bridges is suing 20th Century Fox Film Corporation for breach of contract.
Universal Bridges is Howard’s loan-out company that is run by his current fiancé Mira Howard.
In the court documents, Universal Bridges says Fox agreed to pay Howard through the loan-out company for his work on “Empire.” The studio was paying Howard until recently. The actor continues to act on the show to this date. However, his company accuses Fox of failing to pay him for the last three produced episodes “even though it was contractually obligated to do so.”
Universal Bridges is suing for the court to order Fox owes Howard the money for the episodes and attorney fees.
Usually, this would be a surprising claim. A studio that has billions of dollars owes actors money? Well, Fox has had a little history with not paying their actors. Back in 2015, Deadline reported that Bones stars were suing Fox over 100 million dollars they were owed. Emily Deschanel, David Boreanaz, EP Kathleen Reichs said that under their deals with Fox they are “each contractually entitled to a 3% share of Series profits.” Reichs was supposed to receive 5% — money their breach-of-contract lawsuit says they haven’t received.
In 2019, Fox was order to pay Bones stars over $179 million dollars. Bones was one of Fox highest rated shows for 12 years.
