THE BEST DRESSED OF THE 2021 MET GALA

This past week was a busy one for Hollywood’s Elite. New York Fashion Week kicked off last week followed by MTV’s Video Music Awards and then the Met Gala.

1. Yara Shahidi in Dior:

The Met Gala was cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic and the event was held on Monday, September 13, 2021. This year’s theme was American fashion. The MET chose to celebrate the opening of the 2021 Costume Institute Exhibit “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion.”
Celebrities brought their A-game and here’s who made the best dressed list and executed the theme to perfection.

Yara Shahidi absolutely nailed this look! Yara donned Dior to honor American French entertainer Josephine Baker. The actress and activist was named a Dior Global Ambassador this year and has previously worked with the fashion house to combine her love for activism and fashion.

2. Lil Nas X in Versace:

Lil Nas X showcased not one but three looks by Versace on the red carpet and inspired by the late King of Pop Michael Jackson. He made a grand entrance with a regal gold cape which revealed his second look a full gold suit of armor. His last look was a fitted long sleeve black jumpsuit with a plunging zipper covered in gold jewels. One thing the Montero artist knows is how to do is put on a show.

3. Billie Eilish in Oscar de la Renta:

Billie Eilish truly looks “Happier Than Ever”. The Co-Chair of the event wore a beautiful blush colored Oscar de la Renta gown paying homage to American icons Grace Kelly, Marilyn Monroe and Holiday Barbie. This look was stunning and such a stark contrast from Billie’s usual tomboyish style.

4. Iman in Harris Reed:

This Queen truly understood the assignment! She showed every newcomer how it should be done. The iconic supermodel walked the red carpet in a custom brocade jumpsuit with a feathered cage overskirt complete with a matching massive gold headpiece by British American Designer Harris Reed. Iman served an iconic fashion moment for the ages.

5. Barbie Ferreira in Jonathan Simkhai:

The “Euphoria” star slayed her Met Gala debut in a beautiful pearl-encrusted dress by Jonathan Simkhai. She nailed the vintage Hollywood glamour look and her makeup and hair was flawless. She brought her A-game and looked amazing!
