The family reality matriarchs are at it again, but they’re returning bigger, bolder, and messier than ever. WeTV dropped the initial teaser for the new season of The Braxtons, which airs Friday, October 10 at 8 pm ET/PT on WeTV and streaming on ALLBLK. And if the initial seven minutes are anything to go by, viewers are in for an emotional rollercoaster of tears, laughter, love, and lots of side-eye.

Drama Begins at the First Seven Minutes

Skip slow burn. The new season gets going immediately with discussions of Braxton family business that soon turn to belligerence. Bitter words erupt, and secrets that have lain buried end up coming out of the shadows. Towanda is radiant with her engagement happiness, but is tempered by Tamar’s aggressive act of inviting niece Ashlee on the podcast, an act that doesn’t sit well with Trina, nor does it bring out the old sore spots.

Season 2: Healing or More Heartbreak?

The official logline is that there will be healing after tragedy, but there’s no peace coming easily for the Braxtons. Their journey there is paved with scares over their medical issues, public scandal, and explosive fights that may divide the family forever. While Towanda is plotting an ideal wedding that will include a Bridgerton-style bridal shower, Toni, Trina, Tamar, and Ms. Evelyn are fighting a fracas on all fronts.

  • Toni Braxton balances her music dynasty with exploring television production.
  • Towanda Braxton gets ready for the stage as she prepares for her wedding.
  • Trina Braxton accepts her new career as a realtor but is shaken by bad news.
  • Tamar embarks upon a brand new tour and EP but finds herself at the center of family drama and podcast scandals.
  • Mrs. Evelyn is still the resilient matriarch struggling to steer her daughters through bumpy situations.

Breaking Down the Episodes

  • Episode 201: “New Hustles, Old Wounds” (Oct. 10)
Tamar’s podcast offer to Ashlee causes a ruckus. Towanda basks in the spotlight of new artistic ventures, Toni ventures into production, Trina enjoys success as a real estate agent, and Tamar prepares her tour.
  • Episode 202: “Trouble in Paradise” (Oct. 17)
Ashlee opens her mouth, there’s a bachelorette calamity that befalls Towanda, and Tamar loses the plot over a team tragedy. Trina receives some personal bad news.
  • Episode 203: “Unbreak My Heart” (Oct. 24)
Von reveals an illness issue to Trina, Toni gets ready for her solo show, and Towanda is upset by the lack of response from her sisters regarding wedding prep. A health emergency forces a tense family sit-down.
  • Episode #204: “Where Did We Go Wrong” Oct. 31
Tamar blows up at dinner, Toni grieves while renewing her residency in Miami, Towanda’s luxurious bridal shower sees more sister no-shows, and Tamar prepares for her new EP.
  • Episode 205: “The Queen & I” airs Nov. 7
Towanda’s shower is dripping with gifts and bling, Toni does an homage of Angie Stone, Trina discusses Von’s sickness, and Tamar loses it over another dinner debacle. A Ratings Juggernaut Revived

It’s not drama; it’s a cultural reset. Season 1 was the highest-rated first-season series ever on We TV and the #2 show on Friday nights with African American viewers aged 25-54. When family feuds intersect with high-power careers and wedding bells, Season 2 is ready to outdo itself.

The Power Behind the Chaos

Executive produced by Towanda, Trina, Tamar, Toni, and Evelyn Braxton with Tara Long, Ri-Karlo Handy, Oji Singletary, Michelle Kongkasuwan, and Datari Turner, nothing will be left unchecked this season. Angela Molloy, SVP of Development and Original Production, Unscripted, ensures that the Braxton dynasty remains thriving on WE tv.

Keep that date of October 10th because there’s more at stake here than just mending. It’s about surviving.
