The Hit Naver Webtoon “The Remarried Empress” Becomes a Series, and the Trailer Is Here

“The Remarried Empress,” a romantic historical drama based on the famous Naver Webtoon of the same title, will premiere with four episodes on November 4, streaming only on Disney+ and Hulu.

Two episodes per week will air every Wednesday until November 25. A teaser and key visuals have been unveiled along with the official announcement.

The show follows the relationship between Empress Navier, beloved by her people, and her husband, Emperor Sovieshu of the Eastern Kingdom. Amid rising conflict in the kingdom, the couple’s relationship deteriorates after Sovieshu falls in love with a runaway slave and does whatever it takes to make her his wife.

To protect her dignity, Navier agrees to the emperor’s demands only if she can marry her rival, Crown Prince Heinrey of the Western Kingdom. The story turns into a journey of love, passion, and regret that may determine the destiny of the whole kingdom as Navier seeks to regain her power.

Shin Mina, best known for “Karma,” will play Empress Navier. Ju Jihoon, known for “Light Shop” and “The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call,” will play Emperor Sovieshu.

Lee Jongsuk, best known for “Big Mouth,” will play Crown Prince Heinrey. Lee Seyoung, famous for “The Red Sleeve” and “The Crowned Clown,” will play Rashta, a runaway slave.

Yeoh Geena and Hyun Choongyeol wrote the series. It was directed by Cho Suwon, who directed “Still 17” and “Pinocchio.”
