In 2019, the body cam footage shows a Colorado police officer being a abusive to a 11-year-old boy with autism. The mother of the child filed a federal lawsuit accusing the officer for being over aggressive.

The lawsuit alleges instead of helping the child seek medical attention the officers locked him up in a patrol car for over two hours. While the boy was locked he was banging his head all over the place. He was then taken to youth detention center, where he was held on $25,000 bail.

The boy only poked another student with a pencil at Sagewood Middle School.

Douglas County sheriff’s spokeswoman Lauren Childress claims a staff member was assaulted and a student was stabbed with scissors in a statement.
