The White Lotus Unveils Stellar Cast and Exotic Thai Setting for Third Installment

HBO’s critically acclaimed series, “The White Lotus,” is gearing up for its highly anticipated third installment, featuring a stellar cast that includes Leslie Bibb, Dom Hetrakul, Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan, Parker Posey, Tayme Thapthimthong, and the previously announced Natasha Rothwell. Set against the backdrop of Thailand’s picturesque locales, the production is set to commence in February, capturing the beauty of Koh Samui, Phuket, and Bangkok.

In a strategic collaboration, HBO has joined forces with the Tourism Authority of Thailand to support both the filming and promotional efforts of this new chapter. Janet Graham Borba, EVP of Production at HBO & Max, expressed excitement about showcasing Thailand’s allure through the lens of Mike White’s creative vision. Borba highlighted the partnership’s goal to spotlight Thailand’s captivating landscapes as the latest guests check in to the White Lotus.

Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), echoed this sentiment, expressing honor in having Thailand featured as the filming location for this highly anticipated season. Kiatphaibool emphasized the kingdom’s unique natural beauty, rich historical sites, diverse landscapes, and renowned hospitality, underlining how “The White Lotus” will contribute to Thailand’s reputation as a preferred filming destination.

Building on the success of the previous seasons, the first installment, set in Hawaii, received a staggering 20 Emmy® nominations and secured ten wins across 13 categories. The second installment, set in Sicily, continued the trend with 23 Emmy® nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series.

“The White Lotus” is the brainchild of creator, writer, and director Mike White, and is executive produced by White, David Bernad, and Mark Kamine. As the series expands its horizons to Thailand, it is poised to captivate audiences with its intriguing narratives and an ensemble cast of both established and emerging talents.

With production set to kick off in the exotic landscapes of Thailand, “The White Lotus” promises to offer a fresh perspective on luxury, culture, and the human experience, solidifying its place as an Emmy®-winning HBO Original series that continues to push boundaries.
